Small Business Support
Advocacy
The Oakland Chamber of Commerce is proud of its 116-year history advocating for business in Oakland, and our work building a strong business ecosystem and vibrant community. With Membership made up of 85% small businesses, the Chamber’ Economic Development strategy supports small, and all, businesses throughout Oakland by providing direct technical assistance and referral resources, as well as partnering with public agencies and other nonprofit peers to create policies and programs that support a vibrant small business community in Oakland. The Chamber is the convener and advocate of the Oakland BID Alliance that includes all 11 of Oakland’s Business Improvement Districts, and built strong partnerships with and support for our ethnic Chamber peers with the Five Chambers-One Oakland coalition. The Chamber also develops educational and relevant programming to support small businesses around DEI, workforce development, access to capital, permitting, City services, public policy and more.
