Founded more than one hundred years ago, the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce remains one of the most influential forces in local government and regional economic development. The mission of the Chamber is to secure the economic future of our community, and to enhance the quality of life in the city of Oakland.

With some 1,000 members, the Chamber is actively involved in public policy and provides valuable resources to members.

The Chamber is finding new ways to continue providing our members and the community with events and briefings to keep Oakland informed and connected during the COVID-19 pandemic. Oakland Chamber Advocates For Long-Term Business Sustainability

In late May 2022, the Oakland City Council voted to place a ballot measure on the November 2022 ballot that will change the City’s current business tax structure from a flat tax to a progressive tax structure. The new structure increases tax rates on Oakland businesses in selected industry categories and gross receipt revenues.
